As founder and president of a DJ service since 1978, I am reflecting on my observations on the current environment in the constantly evolving Wedding market. Over the years, brides and grooms have struggled with choosing the right entertainment for their special day. Whereas a band can set a specific tone in appearance and mood, a DJ can be a lower cost alternative to expensive bands and orchestras while offering many advantages. Bands and orchestras have many members in addition to a leader and therefore the price is higher to accommodate all of the people involved. Pricing in any market (DJ or band) will vary from low end to high end. Moreover, there are many inexpensive DJs that are booked on price alone. So how is the consumer to know what choice to make?
